It's been too long since my last update. Boy was it really April? Anyway, first the bad news! Day Without End has unfortunately been delayed but it will be published in the near future. The good news is that a a new version of The Truth, It Lies will be released before then. I recently went back, took a look at it and decided that the time had come to rework it. I don't have a publication date as yet but stay tuned...
As you can see I've added a links panel on the right. Over time I hope to build it up and include blogs, author sites, journals and other useful sites related to mystery and crime fiction. If you check out Mystery Readers International they published an Irish edition of the Mystery Readers Journal earlier this year which features yours truly.

Does the story continue?
I never intended for The Truth, It Lies to have a sequel. However, it was always my intention that it would be part of a trilogy. Since the first draft of Day Without End was written nearly two years ago my vision of what that trilogy is about has changed. Subsequently my vision of Day Without End has changed too.
I have now taken to describing the trilogy as a 'trinity of novels'. This is because to say 'trilogy' implies that the storyline continues in some way. By calling it a 'trinity' I am able to create three standalone books and, at same time, keep them together under one banner, that being the setting of the fictional 1950s movie studio, Mayor Studios.
Day Without End does not pick up where pick up where the story from The Truth, It Lies left off. It does contain some of its characters and does follow a chronological timeline in that its events take place shortly after those of its predecessor.
The style of the second book has also changed dramatically since its early draft. Essentially I went back to the beginning and completely rewrote it from another angle, which will be revealed at a later date.
I plan to have the book out before the end of this year but as ever there are some loose ends which need to be tied up before that happens!
In the meantime, The Truth, It Lies is still free as a download, so why not get yourself a copy and explore the underworld of a 1950s Hollywood movie studio.
